The 90th edition of the Italian footwear fair will take place between Sunday 20th, Monday 21th, Tuesday 22th and Wednesday 23th September 2020, at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in Milan, Italy. The event, organized by ASSOCALZATURIFICI -the Italian association of footwear manufacturers- will present the collections for the Spring/Summer 2021 season.
Heading to new times
This edition of MICAM Milano, in addition to being proposed as a fashion and business space, will also be a meeting point to develop the sector as a whole, in the face of the new market challenges imposed by the coronavirus health crisis. It will be a forum for analysis, discussion and reorganization among manufacturers, distributors and buyers in the face of the new times that the world begins to travel in this post-pandemic period.
Business resumes
Siro Badon -president of MICAM and ASSOCALZATURIFICI- stated that the exhibition is the main occasion to place orders and to develop in the market. "MICAM is essential to support a crucial sector of the Italian economy," he added.
For his part, the general manager of the footwear entity and CEO of the fair -Tommaso Cancellara-, assured the relevance of the next version of MICAM, due to the new stage that opens of interaction between local and foreign companies towards a new period of recovery of the sector.
Maximum security conditions
The global health crisis and the impact on the economy will be taken into account when carrying out the fair. To this end, the organization of the event has taken all the necessary sanitary measures and will comply with the corresponding protocols to guarantee the safety of the participants.
For greater reach
The exhibitors in this edition will also have the digital platform called MICAM Milano Digital Show, which will remain active between September 15th and November 15th.
The new virtual tool created in partnership with NuORDER, is a complement to the live fair and an opportunity for greater business from exhibitors, in addition to having online advice for their promotional or commercial actions.
The objective is to maintain the exhibition of the products valid throughout the year, which will be available to 500 thousand retail merchants that are part of the NuORDER database.

A fair with an international call
In each edition, the exhibition brings together around 1,200 exhibitors, who display 1,700 shoe collections in 60 thousand square meters of exhibition space. More than 30 countries participate through foreign factories and companies, which account for around 47% of the total.
An average of 45 thousand people attends each version of the fair, coming from 130 countries.
MICAM MILANO is structured in five main segments: Luxury, Cosmopolitan, Contemporary, Everyday and IKids, to which are added various parallel activities.
Fall-Winter 2021 Preview
In the MILAN fashion shows program, the main footwear brands showed on the catwalks the guidelines of the next Autumn-Winter trends, where again urban and fashion sports footwear led the proposal.
Once again, fashion pointed to the priority of comfort over a revisionist and eclectic aesthetic, where different lines converge that achieved unique and very creative models.
