The international footwear fair in Italy will hold its 92nd edition in person, at the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in Milan.
The event will take place between Sunday 19th, Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st September 2021, with days that will run from 9.30 a.m. at 6 p.m., and where the trends for the Spring/Summer 2022 season will be presented.
In this regard, Siro Badon -president of ASSOCALZATURIFICI -Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers- and MICAM- revealed: “We are working on an edition concentrated in a new formula of three days instead of the usual four days, guaranteeing maximum safety under protocols developed with Fiera Milano”.
The show will complement its exhibition offering with MICAM X, a space that will address topics on fashion, art and the future of retail, through workshops, presentations and various proposals related to innovation.
The organization also informed that MICAM MILANO will be accompanied in the future by MICAM Milano Digital Show, the virtual version of the fair.
In its last edition between March and May 2021, the platform had a call for more than 90 exhibiting companies and more than 35 thousand pages were visited by a volume greater than 5 thousand buyers, who also made around 2 thousand contact requests with participating exhibitors. For its part, 50 presentations were carried out through MICAM X, focused on materials, trends, sustainability, among other topics.
On the event, Tommaso Cancellara -CEO of MICAM- stated: “We noticed a lot of interest in winter footwear, in particular boots and ankle boots, but also in comfortable shoes and sports shoes, showing that the pandemic has really changed the way we work and we live our lives”.
Once MICAM MILANO is finished, a new edition of LINEAPELLE - A NEW POINT OF VIEW will begin on the same premises, which will be on Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th September, from 9 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. in the first two days and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the last.
The exhibition in Milano Rho will present the proposals for the Winter 2022-2023 season with regard to hides and skins; textiles and synthetics; components and accessories; chemical products, among others.
The fair organization reported that the exhibitors will have a standardized and functional decoration in the stands, while in parallel an anti-Covid-19 security protocol was designed, in conjunction with Fiera Milano, which includes mandatory online registration, temperature review, use of a mask and social distancing.
The set of measures implemented tends to provide maximum security to all participants.
According to records from the end of last June, there were more than 600 international exhibitors registered to participate in this September 2021 edition. Among them from Brazil, Mexico, the United States, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Poland, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Romania and the United Kingdom.
On continuous dates and in the same place -Fiera Milano Rho- the largest international events related to the leather, footwear, manufactures and technology sectors will be held.
From September 19th to 24th, visitors will have access to all segments of the chain: finished products (MICAM); leathers, materials and components (LINEAPELLE); technology for footwear and manufactures (SIMAC) and technology for tanneries (TANNING TECH).
In this way, participants will obtain a general and integrated vision of the evolution of the sector in the international arena.
