According to DASS, the import system currently in force in Argentina has generated a shortage of various supplies and components used for footwear production.
The multinational of Brazilian origin is established in Eldorado, Misiones, with a manufacturing plant where around 14,000 pairs of sports shoes are produced and assembled daily for ASICS, NIKE, FILA and UMBRO, through approximately 520 workers.
Given the lack of certain supplies, in mid-April it was agreed to reduce one working day for the next two months, a consensus reached between DASS and members of the Union of Workers of the Footwear Industry of the Argentine Republic (UTICRA).
Regarding the day not worked, it was decided not to impose a discount for non-attendance and to calculate 70% of the salary. The decision was made after two recesses and after the union rejected the company's previous proposal, which consisted of eliminating two working days and paying the proportional 40% of salary.
The new arrangement in the company's productive scheme aims to prevent suspensions and dismissals, in addition to normalizing the activity, as reported from Primera Edición newspaper.
