Footwear sector data in 2020
The figures for the year 2020 communicated by the CIC -Chamber of the Footwear Industry of Buenos Aires- indicate that foreign sales of footwear were 380 thousand pairs, while imports reached 21.8 million pairs, according to data from AFIP, INDEC and NOSIS.
On the other hand, consumption stood at 76.5 million pairs, a preliminary figure from INDEC, prepared and disseminated by the CIC. According to this fact, consumption would have dropped sharply in 2020 to 1.7 pairs per inhabitant per year, approximately 58% less than in 2019.
