As a result of the meeting held by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, and the Secretary of Commerce, Matías Tombolini, with the main sneakers manufacturers of the brands and models with the highest stock turnover in the market, it was agreed to implement a reduction of up to 20% of the prices valid for the month of December. The agreement provides for a price increase of up to 3% per month for the months of January, February, March and April 2023.
NIKE, PUMA, ADIDAS, TOPPER, FILA, UMBRO, ASICS, KAPPA, CROCS, REEBOK, VANS, HUSH PUPPIES, RIP CURL, LOTTO, NEW BALANCE, ALL STAR, CONVERSE, LE COQ SPORTIF, JAGUAR, DC, KIOSHI, DECKER, ADDNICE, HEAD, COOPERSHOES, KALWER, JOMA, PONY, BICONTINENTAR and FERLI took part of this pact.
Minister Massa thanked businessmen for participating in the initiative and remarked that one of the objectives of the agreement is to increase the production of sports footwear in the country in 2023.
“Going to a production volume of 40 million pairs is important in terms of employment and investment. We have the challenge of caring for dollars, promoting employment and investment, and lowering inflation. The fact of agreeing on an average discount of 15% on sports shoes is important because the Holidays are coming and sports shoes are one of the most common gifts. In addition, because it is Argentine work, it is even more important”, the minister stressed.
"In this way, the Ministry of Economy continues to promote measures with the objective of bringing stability to the prices of the main products of mass consumption and thus giving predictability and relief to Argentines, in addition to recovering the purchasing power of wages", the statement detailed.
