The Italian footwear fair -MICAM- will have the participation of 37 exhibiting companies from Brazil. Thus, between March 13th and 15th, brands such as AREZZO, USAFLEX, BIBI, PICCADILLY, BEIRA RIO CONFORTO and JORGE BISCHOFF, among others, will exhibit their products, marking the gradual return of Brazilian footwear to important international events.
For its part, between February 13th and March 1st, various companies were part of four fairs held in the United States: PLAYTIME, MAGIC LAS VEGAS, ATLANTA SHOE MARKET and MAGIC NY.
The exhibitors exceeded 580 contacts and the result was a business projection of US$ 5.6 million for a sale of more than 423 thousand pairs, figures that include both what was achieved at the moment and in the future, according to ABICALÇADOS -Brazilian Footwear Industries Association-.
“The main North American and Central American operators are increasingly turning their eyes towards Brazil, to the detriment of Asian suppliers. Attributes such as quality, sustainability and flexibility in the negotiations, together with the increase in freight costs, have been essential for this migration”, said Paola Pontin -Commercial Promotion analyst at the footwear entity-.
Both participations are supported by BRAZILIAN FOOTWEAR, a joint initiative between ABICALÇADOS and APEX-BRASIL -Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency-.
