Suppliers from Brazil have a new president
The Brazilian Association of Companies of Component for Leather, Footwear and Manufactures -ASSINTECAL- has appointed Gerson Luis Berwanger, 54, born in Novo Hamburgo/RS, as president for the next two years, currently president of BERTEX, a company that produces materials and components for the industry.
His extensive curriculum vitae begins at the age of 12 when he "began applying adhesive in a factory". Then he accumulated vast experience in exporting materials and footwear, and was a representative of European companies until setting up his own company in 2014.
The new president points out that his administration will start a new phase. As he explained, the pandemic generated the strengthening of virtual relationships, shortened distances, reduced costs and optimized time. In this new scenario, the adoption of a hybrid model for meetings, conferences and events will increase, with the alternation between face-to-face and online.
“During the pandemic, we adapted everything that was possible. We seek to humanize INSPIRAMAIS. In January we will have a new virtual edition and we want to improve the experience, making it an even more attractive event”, he exemplified.
The first digital edition of INSPIRAMAIS, in August 2020, had the participation of 50 countries, 141 exhibitors, 425 international business conferences and 10 thousand users.
At the end of his term, Milton José Killing summed up the moment lived in 2020 in the word “reinvention”. “It was a quiet management until March of this year, then it was more challenging. The pandemic accelerated the creation of the digital INSPIRAMAIS model and we began to serve other markets”, he analyzed.
“I am very happy with the results obtained. ASSINTECAL is very well prepared. The council group was always motivated and willing, well assembled and with a lot of work capacity”.
Milton Killing ended his second presidency in the entity. In the first one he remained for seven years, and now he ends with a four-year period in charge of the association. He is director-president of KILLING, ink and adhesives industry, and will be International Vice President for the next two years.
