UITIC. Technical footwear congress: A source of knowledge at a fair setting
Under the theme “Moving towards sustainability through innovation”, the 21st edition of this meeting, which brings together technicians, professionals, industrialists, leaders and entrepreneurs from various origins linked to the footwear industry, will take place.
The Congress is organized by UITIC, the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, and ASSOMAC, the Italian National Association of Footwear, Leathergoods and Tanning Technologies' Manufacturers, in synergy with Messe Frankfurt, a German trade fair organization, and ASSOCALZATURIFICI, the Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers.
For the first day, September 19th, an interesting program of visits is offered to participants. The itinerary includes three circuits to choose from: innovation and technology centers, supplier companies, and footwear factories.
The second day features a guided tour of the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center, where participants will explore the pavilions of SIMAC TANNING TECH, focused on footwear, manufactured goods and tanning technology; MICAM, showcasing finished footwear; and LINEAPELLE, dedicated to leather, materials, components, and accessories.
On the third and fourth days of the event, presentations by various speakers, including talks, technical sessions, and thematic panels, will take place at the NH Milano Congress Center in Assago. Prominent professionals and researchers are featured, addressing topics of interest to participants in the sector. In this context, innovation and sustainability are considered strategic for the industry's future. Regarding innovation, new technologies in terms of manufacturing and the needs of consumers regarding products in an ever-changing market will be discussed. Sustainability discussions will revolve around environmental respect concerning production and people, aiming to establish rules and values guiding manufacturing and company strategies.
The last edition of the Congress was held in Portugal in 2018, and this highly anticipated return in Italy represents “a unique opportunity to meet with the best international experts and gain valuable insights that shape the course of this significant industry”, according to its organizers.
