Kenzo Takada was born in 1939 in Himeji, Japan, where in his teens he pursued different careers related to clothing fashion.
He arrived in France in the 60s, where after difficulties and sacrifices he managed little by little to insert himself in the world of fashion, managing to add experiences in different clothing brands.
In 1970, he opened his first boutique in Paris with a fashion show, the KENZO brand being officially presented, which years later saw an exponential growth in the international fashion market.
Most of his designs focused on clothing, to later include other products such as footwear, accessories and perfumes.
The main characteristics of his collections were the futuristic stamp, the colorful prints and the multicultural spirit, which with a dose of joy gave a strong identity to his creations.
In 1993, the brand was bought by Bernard Arnault's French group LVMH, while Kenzo continued to serve as advisor and creative consultant.
