According to the survey developed by the Association of Industrial Supply Companies of Mexico -APIMEX- that supplies the footwear and manufactures industries in general, seventy associated companies from León, San Francisco del Rincón and Guadalajara responded by the consequences in the emergency.
From the total, 83% had losses of 3 million pesos; 14% for between 5 and 15 million, and 4% reported losses between 30 and 50 million pesos.
Regarding workers dismissal, 55% still maintain their staff; 26% had to leave between 1 and 10 employees, and the rest between 11 and 40 workers, which represents an estimated 600 lost jobs.
55% of those surveyed stated that one of the main causes of the situation is the decrease in sales, while 31% reported a lack of liquidity.
From the entity who represents suppliers, they noted that companies are making a great effort to maintain their workforce and avoid further damage.
