SALVAGE. By decree, the government buys footwear from small manufacturers

They will be destined to national and regional entities to distribute in critical sectors.

In an environment of productive, commercial and economic decline generated by the Covid-19, state purchases are essential for the continuity of many sectors.

Within the serious situation that Peru is going through due to the coronavirus, one of the hardest hit sectors in its economy are micro and small companies, among which there is a large percentage dedicated to the production of FOOTWEAR and MANUFACTURES.

For this, the government has published an emergency decree to optimize and accelerate the acquisition of goods produced by these sectors, which will be destined for national and regional government entities, for subsequent distribution.

The purpose is to collaborate in the recovery of this industrial segment, with the potential to generate jobs and boost the economy.

Important purchases at 10 thousand mypes

In addition to FOOTWEAR and MANUFACTURES, purchases will also be made in the areas of wood and plastic, textiles and clothing and metal mechanic.

As explained by the deputy minister of Mype and Industry, José Salardi Rodríguez, the acquisitions will be made by the purchasing executing nuclei -NEC- for a total of 736.5 million soles -US $ 208 million-, which will benefit 10 thousand mypes that will generate around 100 thousand jobs throughout the national territory.

They can receive 50% advance

Before the definitive contracting of the companies, a technical file will be prepared that will define the cost structure, classification of the mypes and inspection of the manufacturing establishment.

Thus, the selected companies may request an advance of up to 50% of the amount of the contract, upon presentation of a solidarity, unconditional, irrevocable bond letter, automatically carried out, without benefit of excussion, for the same amount of advance.
