GALLERY SHOES

Footwear, Clothing and Accessories - Düsseldorf - April 18th to 20th, 2021

Under sanitary protocols and with a moderate number of visitors

Between Sunday 18th, Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April, the GALLERY SHOES AND FASHION INDUSTRIAL SHOWROOM was held under strict health protocol, the event that brought together manufacturers of footwear, clothing and fashion accessories from different European countries, such as Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the Germans themselves, among others. In total, there were 350 brands that occupied three pavilions in the Areal Böhler that was visited by a moderate number of buyers, due to the prevailing health situation due to Covid-19.

For the director of the exhibition, Ulrike Kähler "it was important to have held the fair in person, as industry partners, to give continuity to our task of providing services and solutions to the sector in times of crisis".

"However, the main German retail buyers and those from neighboring countries were present, who took the opportunity to place orders and contacts, in addition to updating themselves with the latest collections on display", added the representative of the organizing entity.

She later pointed out that “we hope to get a normal number of visitors in our next events, which will take place in July and August 2021, taking into account that the vaccination will be accelerated for the summer and this will greatly alleviate the general situation. Surely in the coming months there will be more movement and we will leave behind this time of restrictions caused by the pandemic”.

The visitors agreed to point out the diversity and quality of the offer, where a good degree of updating was appreciated according to current fashion trends, however they confirmed the modality of "restricted purchases" based on the evolution of the health crisis, which has strongly affected the commercial circuit.

Future editions

During the fair, the IGEDO authorities announced the calendar of the next events for 2021:

- Gallery Fashion and Shoes: July 24th-26th

- Showroom Concept: July 22nd-26th

- Gallery Shoes and Fashion: August 29th-31st

- Showroom Concept: August 27th-31st

ITALY
EXPO RIVA SCHUH

Footwear - Riva del Garda - July 18th to 20th, 2021

The date is adapted to better sales conditions

The Italian footwear fair in volume will delay the celebration of its summer version by a month. In this sense, EXPO RIVA SCHUH will hold its 95th edition between Sunday 18th, Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th July 2021, at the Riva del Garda Exhibition Center in Trento.

Under a live modality, the exhibition will present the proposals for the Spring/Summer 2022 season and will be accompanied by GARDABAGS, the event dedicated to leather goods and accessories.

Taking into account the current context, the exhibition will include a health protocol designed to achieve the safety of visitors and exhibitors. The regulations will focus on the structural level of the fairs, as well as the control of the participants.

"At this time, a physical event would provide a concrete and timely opportunity for companies in the industry to restart, and a possibility that we would like to increase through the digital know-how that we have acquired during this period of forced arrest", said the general director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi -Alessandra Albarelli-.

For this purpose, the proposal will also include a virtual format, developed to generate networking, business and updates. The digital platform will be active from June 13th to September 30th, as reported from the fair's website.

Roberto Pellegrini -president of the entity-, stated: “It is necessary to bet on technology and security to be competitive, thinking that it will be a long job, but the important thing is to allow traditional organizational processes to coexist with the new opportunities offered by the digitization, forming a virtuous integration that will be essential for the whole system to work again”.

FRANCE
PREMIÈRE VISION PARIS

It continues digital and in September it returns to live mode

Throughout 2021, PREMIÈRE VISION will launch a digital platform that will include its Marketplace and all its events. The initiative will take place through three phases, starting last February with the celebration of PREMIÈRE VISION PARIS, which showed superior results compared to the digital edition of September 2020.

On that occasion, the virtual event had a participation greater than 1,560 e-shops from more than 45 countries. Under the Leathers, Fabrics, Yarns, Accessories, Denim, Designs, Smart Creation and Manufacturing segments, the exhibitors presented more than 50 thousand products.

Between February 15th and 19th, the platform has reached the visit to 460,300 pages and 174,500 products; that is, 22.1% and 26.4% more than in the September edition of last year. FUTURMODA

Leather, Components and Machinery - Elche - October 20th to 21st, 2021

After several postponements it returns to the physical format

The International Exhibition of Leather, Components and Machinery for Footwear and Leather Goods is scheduled to hold its 46th edition between Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st, October 2021. Both days will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Alicantina Fair Institution (IFA) in Elche.

The exhibition will present the trends for Autumn/Winter 2022-2023, by the hand of exhibiting companies of hides, leather, tanning; components and accessories for footwear; textiles, fabrics, synthetics; technology and machinery for footwear; chemical products, among other sectors.

To this will be added spaces such as the Ecological Products Exhibition Area, Expert Forum and Technology Area, Trends Show, as announced on the FUTURMODA website.

Consequences of the pandemic

The October edition will be the first of the year for FUTURMODA, due to the fact that last April's version was canceled due to the health crisis, by the Spanish Association of Components and Machinery for Footwear (AEC), organizer of the fair.

The limitations in the realization of events and trips generated the suspension of the 45th edition, corresponding to Spring/Summer 2022. The measure was expected to prevent economic losses and infections.

HONG KONG
APLF LEATHER, MATERIALS+ AND FASHION ACCESS

Skins, Leathers, Components, Materials, Footwear, Leather Goods, Clothing and Fashion Accessories - Hong Kong - November 17th to 19th, 2021

Reunion in the East

A new change of dates was informed by the organization of the APLF LEATHER, MATERIALS + and FASHION ACCESS fairs. The days of the events will be Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th November 2021.

After having scheduled the exhibitions for July 5th, 6th and 7th of this year, various factors ended up postponing them. Mainly, the mandatory quarantine ordered by the Hong Kong government and in force until September 30th. But also, the difficulties in the participation of exhibitors and visitors, derived from the limitations in travel and accommodation.

The decision was made after a thorough analysis of the variables, added to the survey among the actors that are part of the fairs. "The progress of vaccination in many countries has given us an encouraging signal that by November, the situation will ease and travel around the world will resume", said APLF director David Bondi in relation to the new dates.

With multiple business options

The fairs to be held in Hong Kong focus on the footwear, clothing, leather goods, interiors and upholstery industries, as reported on the exhibition's website.

In this regard, the APLF LEATHER exhibition consists of hides and skins, materials, machinery, and chemical products for tanneries, factories, etc. MATERIALS+ includes synthetic, natural and woven products; machinery, technology; and components for footwear, among others.

On the other hand, at Fashion Access, ODM companies that place buyers' labels on finished products, can be contacted; as well as requesting that the designs be manufactured by OEM industries. The exhibition includes footwear, leather goods and fashion accessories.
